The multidisciplinary team approach for pregnant and parturients with cardiac pathology in Ukraine
Abstract
According to the ESC Guidelines on the management of cardiovascular diseases during pregnancy 2011, the multidisciplinary team on the bases of academic institutions formed in our country in 2013. This cooperation between physicians of different specialties was created to provide intersectoral care to pregnant women and parturients with cardiovascular pathology and a separate subgroup of these patients with critical cardiac pathology. This strategy is based on evidence-based medicine and the vast practical experience of ukrainian cardiac surgeons. The main goal is to reduce maternal, neonatal and perinatal mortality and disability. In the article the experience of multidisciplinary cooperation between GE «Amosov National institute of cardiovascular surgery NAMS Ukraine» and GE «Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology NAMS Ukraine» for 2014 is presented. Indications for cooperative observation and management of such pregnant women, preterm delivery and cardiosurgical interventions in the elective and urgent order have been determined; questions for further investigation have been developed.
