Quantitative characteristics of structural changes in rats testicles after strumectomy
Abstract
The problem of male infertility remains urgent issues of modern medical science. Certainly hormonal imbalances that regularly occur, can causes reproductive disorders particularly after strumectomy. However, morphogenetic mechanisms of spermatogenesis disorders development under hypothyroid conditions are not well understood. Therefore, it is important to study the dynamics of structural changes in the rat’s testes under hypothyroid conditions. Their objective quantitative characteristic will deeper reveal the pathogenesis of male infertility and thus improve its diagnosis and pharmacological correction. The experiments have been carried out on non-linear white male rats, on which under ketamine anesthesia strumectomy was performed. Application of organometry, study of testicles histological sections with their morphometric characteristics and statistical processing of digital material allowed to establish significant degenerative changes in the stroma and parenchyma in the organ after strumectomy. These changes develop through hemodynamic disturbances in the testes that manifested congestive venous plethora and decrease throughput of small arteries and arterioles, which may form the basis of infertility
